I’ve made lots of my vegetable seed cards and vegetable fridge magnets to go in an exciting pop up shop in Brick Lane on Sunday 15th May, that’s tomorrow, so go and check it out if you’re in the area, it will only be there for one day. Here’s all the details and below is a pic of my half finished vegetable cards, which are all now finished and posted.
Clare and Carrie have traversed the length of the British Isles to find the most unique, eccentric creations and delicacies the UK has to offer, bringing them together for one day only on the 15th May at Brick Lane’s Dray Wharf Galley as the culmination of the ‘Nokia Destination E7’ campaign.
So if you’ve ever wanted to become the owner of a one off handmade Pashley bicycle from Stratford on Avon, a Welsh accordion, driftwood furniture from Northumberland or fantastical glass sculptures hand-blown in Lancashire, the shop will be a treasure trove of quirky and beautiful pieces from the countries finest craftsmen.
To delight those foodies passionate about local produce, Busy Britain has collected everything from world famous kippers from Craster, Cheddar matured down a mineshaft in Wales to Wiltshire grown chillies. Producers from around the country will be on hand to introduce their weird and wonderful offerings.
Entertainment for the day will be from the UK’s only vegetable orchestra, and throughout the day complimentary British specialities will be served up by Arnold and Henderson, along with the finest British champagne.
The shop has been sourced and curated by Carrie and Clare from the Made in the Shade craft website, as part of the Nokia Destination E7 campaign. They have travelled the length of the country from the Isle of Mull all the way to London E7 in just five days, visiting suppliers and collecting for the shop, coordinating the whole project using the new Nokia E7 smartphone.
