ABOUT

I’m Kate Broughton, a British illustrator and designer based in Otley, West Yorkshire.

I create a range of illustrated prints, eco-friendly cards, stationery, and giftware inspired by nature, wildlife, and domestic life. My independent brand, established in 2008, combines illustration with sustainable materials and UK small batch production. My work often celebrates the small pleasures of everyday British life: gardening, birds, tea, and countryside walks. Environmental consciousness has always been central: cards use 100% recycled paper, packaging is biodegradable, and I print things in small batches to limit waste. I use a couple of production partners that are UK based, ethical and sustainable, minimising environmental impact.

I grew up next to the River Wharfe in Otley, where my fascination with wildlife and the outdoors began. This early connection to nature became a lasting influence on my art. After studying textile design at Nottingham Trent University, I developed my illustration style characterised by fine linework and subtle palettes. I started my creative business in Nottingham in 2008, initially selling at local craft fairs before expanding online and throughout the UK and US in galleries, gift shops and independent stores. In 2014, I moved back to Yorkshire, where I work from my home studio.
